Piece Story

A reconstructed utility vest built from a vintage M&S blazer and layered reclaimed textiles. This piece explores transformation through contrast — structured canvas meets raw denim patchwork, finished with a large BANG! appliqué across the back. The graphic is cut from a 1960s curtain and built in layers with a shadow offset, then secured with visible stitching. It sits on top of a patchwork denim explosion, turning the back panel into a statement surface. Two large pleated cargo pockets bring function to the front, while the cropped boxy fit keeps the silhouette sharp and sculptural. Fully lined using reclaimed cotton, with visible construction and sashiko accents throughout. Every material in this piece has lived a previous life. This garment does not erase that history — it builds on it.
